Product Description

Glass Fiber Reinforced Nylon PA6 compounds are high-performance engineering plastics designed to replace traditional metal in demanding automotive applications. Specifically formulated for engine covers, these compounds combine the toughness of nylon with the structural reinforcement of glass fibers, delivering outstanding strength, rigidity, and dimensional stability under high-temperature engine environments. Compared with standard nylon, this grade maintains performance even when exposed to continuous operating temperatures of 120–150°C, making it an ideal choice for modern lightweight automotive designs.

Engine covers made from GF-reinforced PA6 not only protect critical engine components from dust, debris, and mechanical impact but also reduce overall vehicle weight, improving fuel efficiency and lowering emissions.

  • Pre-dry granules at 80–100°C for 3–4 hours before injection molding to prevent surface defects caused by moisture.

  • For engine compartments exposed to UV light through ventilation openings, UV-stabilized grades should be selected.

  • Avoid continuous exposure to strong acids or alkalis, which may degrade mechanical performance.

  • Confirm compliance with automotive standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949, UL 94) for safety-critical components.
